Lately

So as we mentioned before, our camera is broken. So a lot of these photos are from early August or borrowed (I hope that's okay Nicole!) But the good news is that our new one is on its way and we are super excited about it. Its a Canon S95 and we can't wait to start using it.

But in the last few weeks we have had TONS of fun. Gary's family had a little mini-reunion a couple weeks ago with his mom's twin sister's family (is that too confusing?). We had the first part up in Forrest Lakes at the Tenney cabins and then finished in the valley. But we stayed up late and played mafia, the girls made earrings and other pretty things, we went to the lake, turbojammed (that was hilarious) and basically just enjoyed everyone's company. Let me tell you there were some pretty dang cute babies and kids there. We had so much fun! A big thank you to everyone that drove so far to be there. We missed you Amanda! And I know your nieces missed you because when I got there they thought I was you! I think they were pretty bummed when they realized I wasn't their cool aunt, just some lady haha.

And in big news Gary's youngest brother Brandon left for the MTC. He is going to be such a great missionary. We miss him already. And last week Haley and I had fun shopping at the mall. Of course we didn't get pictures :( Can't wait for this camera to come!! And I (Angela) have a new obsession. Gary's mom Marilyn taught us girls how to make earrings. Lets just say I am never buying earrings again. I LOVE making them. Actually I think I just love shopping at Hobby Lobby. Marilyn introduced me to it and I seriously wish they would put one in Flagstaff. Actually its probably a good thing they don't have one here. But as soon as I can, I will post some pics of my favorites. God bless you Marilyn!

Happy Birthday Dillon!

So we know that we have been huge slackers when it comes to this blog. We thought that having a child would motivate us to post more often. Well, yes its true that we have a million pictures of our Dillon but we also have far less time than before we had Dillon. That is the best excuse we have come up with so far anyway. So while we were away...

  • Gary graduated with his Masters in Counseling and is now a licensed counselor.
  • I became a stay at home mom (not necessarily by choice) but I love it!
  • Gary starts his PhD program in the fall here at NAU
  • I chopped my hair for the first time in years and donated it to locks of love (I barely made it). NO, its not a pixie cut or anything, more like shoulder length. Yes my hair was of Amish length.
  • Dillon learned to walk in the last couple weeks and looks for applause every time he walks across the room.
  • Gary got the worst double ear infection I have ever heard of or seen. His ears were soooo swollen that he said his ears looked like this: (His words, not mine)
  • I became officially scuba certified. It only took the Tenney's 5 years to convince me. So glad I did it and I highly recommend it.
  • We went with all the Tenney's (minus Troy who we all missed dearly) to Cozumel Mexico to scuba dive and swim with the whale sharks, which was absolutely amazing! The trip did have one downside: Brandon (Gary's youngest bro) had his toe rear ended (more like sandwiched) by a golf cart. Which resulted in a surprisingly positive experience with the Mexican Health Care system. And Trevor passed out...but that's another story.
  • We are enjoying the nice summer weather and LOTS of rain. Our front yard has a drainage ditch running through it and it has been full for most of the last 2 weeks.
  • Brandon got his mission call to Jacksonville, FL and leaves in a couple weeks. Bittersweet.
  • Our five year anniversary is coming up in a few days. Yay!
  • Dillon is one year old today! Hard to believe that.
Here are some various pictures from over the summer. Cause that's what its all about. Our camera broke on our Cozumel trip so we will try and get a video of Dillon walking asap. Everyday he looks less and less like a drunk man trying to navigate our living room. We are so proud.

Just so you know we have recommitted ourselves to this blog. Our restaurant review blog has officially bitten the dust. But I think being poor is a better excuse for not updating that one. Don't you think?

A Flagstaff Winter

So when we moved to Flagstaff we knew that there was snow. But we didn't know there would be this much snow! This is our second winter here and we've had storms but this one has been a nuts. Its been fun watching the snow these last couple days. I know everyone has been asking how things are up here so here are a few pictures. With MLK day and school being cancelled Thurs and Friday, Gary has only had a couple days of school this week. It has been nice having him home and we've been taking advantage of it. This was our street today.

Here is our backyard. Our six foot fence is over halfway covered.

My car is in there! We aren't even trying to get it out. Not like we are going anywhere! Ha ha

After watching all the snow falling the last couple days, Dillon decided he wanted to join in the fun. Thanks for the snowsuit grandma and grandpa!

Gary worked his tail off getting all the snow cleared. Our landlord gave us a snow blower to use and we are so grateful.

Gary and I went for a drive last week before the storm. We went down and saw Lake Mary. It is really pretty in the summer and the winter is gorgeous.

Dillon loved it. He usually doesn't like having things on his head, but I think he was happy to be out of the house!

The lake was frozen over and there were people there ice fishing. It looked fun and very cold.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Don't look at me mom! I didn't make this mess!
It's laundry day!
