And the winner is....

Well, its true. We just found out that Gary was accepted to the graduate program at NAU. We are really excited! He will be doing the Community Counseling master's program first and then finish with a PhD. in Counseling Psychology. He starts school in August so we will probably move at the beginning of August. I am so proud of him! And we are both so grateful that we were accepted to a good program close to our families. Its going to be very interesting to have a white christmas this year! And if anyone knows of a good place in the valley to buy snow gear let me know! Its kind of bittersweet because we are leaving the only place we've ever known as home...but what a fun adventure it will be :)

Vacation Pics!

This last weekend Gary and I went with my family (the Winwards) down to Rocky Point. We had such a blast! We went and sat by the pool, sat on the beach, and basically relaxed ourselves into a coma. The weather was nice and warm. And you can't beat that view...

Here are my nephews hanging onto my dad and Gary for dear life...that water was a little chilly!

We rented a Wave Runner for a little on Saturday. It was a lot of fun!

My nephews Owen and Corbin are so cute! We had so much fun hanging out with them.

Our last night we drove into town and ate at a cute restaurant called The Crow's Nest.

Afterwards, in true Winward fashion, we went and had some Thrifty ice cream.

yes, that is a bar behind us and no, we didn't sample it :)

This is at Cholla Bay right next to Rocky Point. It is really fun to look for sea shells and stuff because the tide change is so drastic there. We stopped by in the morning at low tide.

Good Job Gary!

So I have been planning on posting this for awhile...but time got away from me. In order to graduate Gary has only needed one more class and that is Portuguese. He had planned on taking the test to pass out, but they gave him grief about it and told him he had to wait until next semester because it was too late :(  Well Gary enrolled in the class and decided to take the test later, halfway through the class and he passed! So he is officially done with his bachelors! Woo-hoo! On to grad school!  We aren't sure where we are going yet...but way to go Gary!

P.S. I saw the alternate ending to I Am Legend and liked it so much! Although neither ending really went with the book, I felt like this had more of the underlying theme in it. And something really hilarious...when I got up for work this morning Gary said he had a nightmare about I Am Legend! I didn't get the full details but apparently he dreamt he was in the movie. That would seriously be my worst nightmare ever! Well...maybe dreaming about The Ring would be worse...

I'm so scared!

Its midnight and Gary is watching "I am Legend". So I promised to watch this movie with Gary (I don't really remember saying that..but he says I did). Now granted, I have already seen this movie in theaters. But for me there is something about watching scary or suspensful movies at home that scares me EVEN MORE if thats possible. I guess I feel like nothing can happen to me in a public setting...but at home anything goes! I also have this strange habit that I have to plug at least one ear when I watch these types of movies. For some reason I guess I am more scared by the sound than anything else. But hey I guess if it helps why not! I genuinely think this is a well made movie..But does it have to be sooooooo freaky???

PS. I also don't know why we are watching it this late.

A New Hobby

So I play the piano and I like to sing. But I have been listening to this Neil Young song on our little imeem player (its down at the very bottom of this blog). I now seriously think the harmonica is the coolest instrument ever. And I don't think I know anyone that plays one. I want to be as cool as this guy.

P.S. Also listen to "All I want is You" by Barry Louis Polisar. You might recognize it from a little flick called Juno.
